How Trending Finds Work
The Trending Finds section uses a multi-factor algorithm to surface the most exciting opportunities in the LitBuy spreadsheet. We analyze purchase velocity, QC photo submission rate, community ratings, price change direction, and social media mentions to identify items gaining momentum.
Trending items fall into three tiers: Hot (massive surge in 24 hours), Rising (steady growth over 72 hours), and Restocked (previously sold out items now available again). Each tier is color-coded for instant recognition as you browse the dashboard.
This section updates every 6 hours, making it the fastest way to catch limited releases and flash deals before they sell out. Savvy shoppers check trending finds at least twice daily to avoid missing high-demand items.

Why Items Trend on LitBuy
Items typically trend for three reasons: new batch releases from top factories, celebrity or influencer sightings driving demand, or significant price drops making previously expensive items accessible. Understanding why an item is trending helps you decide whether to buy immediately or wait for potential further price reductions.
Batch releases are the most reliable trend signal. When a factory improves their replication accuracy for a popular model, the community rushes to buy and submit QC photos. These items maintain their value and typically see sustained demand rather than a quick spike followed by collapse.
Celebrity-driven trends are more volatile. An item seen on a major artist might spike 500% in 24 hours, but demand often normalizes within a week. Unless you truly love the piece, waiting 3-5 days can save you from buying at peak price.
